Preventive medicine focuses on identifying health risks early—long before symptoms appear—using thorough evaluation, targeted lab testing, and ongoing monitoring. Unlike traditional reactive healthcare, which typically intervenes only after disease has developed, proactive care aims to prevent problems from ever taking hold. At Obecano in Pleasantville, NY and Norwalk, CT, this approach blends physician-led expertise with personalized, evidence‑based planning. Patients across Westchester County and Fairfield County are increasingly choosing preventive strategies to support long‑term health and longevity.

What Preventive Disease Care Really Means

In a physician-led practice like Obecano, Disease Prevention means far more than an annual physical. It’s a structured, proactive approach to understanding your body’s unique risk factors. Dr. Ingeborg Dziedzic uses expanded lab work, metabolic and hormonal evaluation, cardiovascular risk tracking, and long-term health planning to detect early patterns that often go overlooked in standard appointments.

Preventive medicine is not guesswork—it’s a science‑based process that helps patients stay ahead of chronic disease, improve energy, regulate weight, support hormone balance, and feel confident about their long-term health trajectory.

Why More Patients Are Seeking Proactive Care Earlier

Patients throughout Westchester County and Fairfield County are becoming more frustrated with traditional medical visits that feel rushed, reactive, and symptom-focused. Many don’t feel heard or fully evaluated, especially when they’re experiencing fatigue, weight changes, early menopausal or andropausal shifts, or a general decline in wellness despite “normal” labs.

Proactive disease prevention offers something different: time, insight, and a deeper look. People want answers—not band‑aids. They want earlier intervention, personalized guidance, and a physician who looks at the whole picture rather than isolated symptoms.

How Prevention Differs from Simply Waiting for Symptoms

Traditional healthcare is built around treatment. You wait until something hurts, stops working, or becomes serious—then you seek care. Preventive medicine flips that model:

  • Traditional care: Respond to problems once symptoms appear.
  • Preventive care: Understand risks early and take action before problems emerge.

At Obecano’s locations in Pleasantville, NY and Norwalk, CT, prevention includes a deeper clinical dive into cardiovascular health using advanced tools like Lipid Fractionation Testing , hormone evaluation for both men and women, metabolic health tracking over time, and individualized longevity planning. This approach is especially valuable for patients seeking more control over aging, energy levels, and long-term wellness.

What a Preventive Medicine Consultation Includes

During a comprehensive Preventive Medicine Consultation , Dr. Dziedzic takes the time to understand your health history, genetics, lifestyle, symptoms, and long‑term goals. From there, she structures a detailed plan that may include:

  • Preventive lab work: Metabolic markers, cardiovascular labs, hormone panels, inflammatory markers, micronutrient evaluation, and specialty tests.
  • Cardiovascular risk monitoring: Lipid fractionation, advanced cholesterol assessment, and metabolic risk analysis.
  • Hormone evaluation: Understanding menopausal, perimenopausal, and andropausal changes using bioidentical hormone therapy when appropriate.
  • Metabolic health tracking: Patterns in weight, glucose, insulin, thyroid function, and energy levels.
  • Long-term preventive planning: Clear recommendations tailored to your goals for aging, wellness, and longevity.

It’s a collaborative, ongoing partnership rather than a one‑time visit. This is the heart of Longevity & Preventive Medicine —building a healthier future by taking action today.
